Rated 4.8 from 133 reviews, and 4 to 9 hours door to door. It collects from hotels in Kingston, New Kingston, Ocho Rios or Runaway Bay, and spends about an hour and a half on the coffee farm. Return transport, a professional guide, the tasting and entry fees are in the fare, the entry fees on the group tour only. Lunch is a stop you pay for, with a complimentary drink. 2. Blue Mountain Path Finder: $90

A shared morning of 4 hours from Kingston, capped at 5 travellers. About two hours of it is at Craighton: the grounds, the Great House, a coffee talk and a tasting on the veranda, then a walk through the plantation. The estate stop is marked with the admission ticket included, and the fare carries coffee or tea, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks. Lunch at a mountainside cafe is at your own expense.

3. Craighton and Devon House, private: $180

Four hours from Kingston, only your group in the vehicle, 5.0 from 12 reviews. About an hour is spent on the estate, and the fare covers the air-conditioned vehicle, private transport and bottled water. Lunch is excluded, and the listing does not say whether the farm entrance is inside the fare. The private Craighton and Devon House half-day is also the only fare with infant seats.

4. Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Tour and sightseeing: $190

The shortest day, 2 to 3 hours, private from Kingston, with about two hours in Blue Mountains National Park. The fare lists a coffee plantation tour, a coffee sample, snacks, bottled water and WiFi on board. Gratuities sit outside it.

5. Exotic Blue Mountain Coffee Tour from the north coast: $275

A private day of 7 to 9 hours that starts at 7:30am from Ocho Rios or Montego Bay and crosses the island to spend about two hours at Craighton's Great House. The entrance fee to the estate is written into the fare, alongside snacks, bottled water and the air-conditioned vehicle. Food and drinks, souvenirs and gratuity are excluded.

6. Blue Mountain Coffee and Sightseeing Tour: $325

A day of 4 to 6 hours from Kingston with up to 15 travellers, about four of them in Blue Mountains National Park. It is the only fare that feeds you: a complimentary Jamaican lunch at a local spot, plus the tasting, a driver-guide and a stop at Devon House.

Is the farm entrance inside the fare?

At Craighton's own gate an adult pays US$25 and a child aged 6 to 12 pays US$15. Most fares carry the farm visit in some form. Path Finder and the Exotic day list Craighton entry as included. The $90 group morning covers entry fees on its group tour only. The $190 day lists its plantation tour as included, and the $325 day marks its park-and-coffee stop as needing no admission ticket.

That leaves the private Craighton and Devon House half-day, which is silent on it. Ask the operator when you book, or budget US$25 for each adult.

What you still pay on the day

• Lunch. Only the $325 day includes it. The $90 morning stops for lunch at your cost with a complimentary drink; Path Finder's mountainside cafe stop is at your own expense.
• Tips. Excluded in writing on the $325, $275 and $190 fares.
• Devon House ice cream. 700 JMD or US$5 on the $325 day.
• Souvenirs. Sold separately on the Exotic day.
• Pickup outside central Kingston. An extra charge on the $325 day.
• Holywell, if you go in on your own. The national park charges visitors US$10 an adult and US$5 under 12.

Why one fare is $90 and another $325

Three things move the number: private or shared, where the day starts, and how many hours it runs. The coffee does not, because every one of these days ends at a tasting. The two $90 fares are shared. The $180, $190 and $275 fares are private, with only your group in the vehicle. The $325 day is capped at 15 travellers and adds lunch and about four hours in the national park. On any Blue Mountains Jamaica coffee tour, the farm walk changes far less than the price.
